我的经历具体是这样的：我是1980年从内蒙古考到北大的，比大家高了好多届。我在北大学英文，然后又在北大教书。教书六年之后，在1990年，我求学到美国。我发现到了，美国一下飞机，我一句话也听不懂。当时我想，至少我学了几年英文，所以打算继续学英文。正在我在考虑到哪里去的时候，我听到一种说法，叫做everybody in American can speak English。那么我又怎么能够在美国赚钱呢？所以，我必须改变这个想法。于是我该学了学计算机。计算机硕士毕业以后，我在美国的贝尔实验室做了两年的软件工程师。在1995年，“新东方”的创始人俞敏洪来到了美国，在他的建议下，我有回国，开始参加“新东方”的创建。我和俞敏洪在北大是同班同学——“新东方”的五个“创业元老”里有三个是北大的同学。除了我们两个还有一个是“新东方”的图书总策划包凡一老师，他是“新东方”的写作专家。我在大学时代是他们的班长，他们两个当时是全班最落后的学生。我那时的主要精力和时间都花在每天晚上陪他们两个在湖畔散步，劝

在美国的时候我学计算机之前，还有一段小插曲。那就是我险些报考了哈佛的人力学系。我离开北大之后，吸引我的学校只有两所，一所是英国的牛津大学，就是Oxford University；另一所呢就是Harvard University。那时候，哈佛大学人力学系的系主任，对我进行了面试之后觉得可以录取我，并且提出可以给我提供五年的Scholarship。他说：“你只要答应我一个条件，”我说：“什么条件？”——这个教授研究的是非常偏的一个科目，所以招生好多年都没有找到一个合适的学生。他是在人力学系研究中国文化中苗族文化的。——他说：“只要你跟我学苗语，我就给你奖学金。”我说：“可以。”但是，我冷静下来之后想：我拿了这些钱，在五年之内，过的是天上人间的日子。就算不能从哈佛大学毕业，也能够肄业。将来至少能够跟孙子夸口说，爷爷当年进过哈佛。但是这还不行，因为我拿到这个学位，最终的目的是要找个饭碗。我就考虑，在北美这样大片的土地上，有多少地方需要我这样的人才呢？——苗族文化专家。通过“研究”，我发现，全北美只有一个地方需要，就是哈佛大学、人力学系、这位老师。所以，如果全北美只有一个机会，他的目标里只有我一个人，那么这个机会对我来说是百分之百的！但是，五年之后，我仍然处于一个非常劣势的地位。我如果能在哈佛大学拿到学位，接下来的梦想就是当上哈佛大学的教授、终身教授。美国大学关于终身教授的规定：只要这个教授不去世，你就别想替代他。我想，万一我六十岁就“夭折“了，那位教授八十多岁还健在，我也还是助教。想到这儿，我就对那位教授说：“I want to learn something different。”

当时是1990年，计算机在美国变得popular。而且招生的指标还有70个，我觉得这是个attract opportunity，于是决定学计算机。如果学计算机，我就可以成为一个“计算机科学家”，就可以make money。但当时，我已经十年没摸过数学了，计算机也从来没有接触过。我想，我能不能学计算机呢？我用亚里士多德的“三段论”来推导这个问题：计算机是人发明的东西，凡是人都应该懂人发明的东西。最后，如果我学不了计算机，我就不是人。得出这个结论之后，我就要做一些实际的调查，看一看计算机到底是什么。我到了纽约最大的书店，看看计算机架上到底有些什么书。其中有两架书，

I have been through the depths of poverty and sickness. When people ask me what has kept me going through the troubles that come to all of us, I always reply：＂I stood yesterday. I can stand today. And I will not permit myself to think about what might happen tomorrow.＂

I have known want and struggle and anxiety and despair. I have always had to work beyond the limit of my strength. As I look back upon my life, I see it as a battlefield strewn3）with the wrecks of dead dreams and broken hopes and shattered illusions-a battle in which I always fought with the odds tremendously4）against me, and which has left me scarred and bruised5）and maimed6）and old before my time.

Yet I have no pity for myself；no tears to shed over the past and gone sorrows；no envy for the women who have been spared all I have gone through. For I have lived. They only existed.

I have drunk the cup of life down to its very dregs7）. They have only sipped the bubbles on top of it. I know things they will never know. I see things to which they are blind.

It is only the women whose eyes have been washed clear with tears who get the broad vision that makes them little sisters to all the world.

I have learned in the great University of Hard Knocks a philosophy that no woman who has had an easy life ever acquires. I have learned to live each day as it comes and not to borrow trouble by dreading the morrow8）. It is the dark menace of the future that makes cowards of us. I put that dread from me because experience has taught me that when the time comes that I so fear, the strength and wisdom to meet it will be given me. Little annoyances9）no longer have the power to affect me. I have learned not to expect too much of people, and so I can still get happiness out of the friend who isn＇t quite true to me or the acquaintance15）who gossips16）. Above all, I have acquired a sense of humour, because there were so many things over which I had either to cry or laugh. And when a woman can joke over her troubles instead of having hysterics17）, nothing can ever hurt her much again.

I do not regret the hardships I have known, because through them I have touched life at every point I have lived. And it was worth the price I had to pay.

You might have seen plastic bags flying in the sky and getting caught in the trees when the wind blows or maybe you have seen old cans floating in the rivers and polluting the water. Our environment is the place in which we live, but it is being ruined by us.

There is a story about house and trees. It is said that a man’s house was surrounded by a lot of trees. Though the wind was strong, that man could have a good rest under the trees. How comfortable the life was! One day, that man wanted to enlarge his house, so he cut down all the trees. Then the autumn came without the protection. The strong wind blew the roof of the house into the sky. The whole house was gone with the wind. What a pity! But that’s the price people have to pay for destroying in the ecology balance. People shouldn’t be short-sighted. Protecting the environment is everyone’s task.

As you know, there are four kinds of pollution. They are air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution and noise pollution. But what can we do to solve the pollution？I think, firstly, we can make cars that don’t pollute the environment. We can ask companies to use modern clean technology. In some big cities, we can limit the number of cars. Secondly, we can try to use less water and make sure that we do not pollute the water. We can tell factories that they are not allowed to pour waste water into the lakes and rivers. Thirdly, we should not throw rubbish in parks and cities. We can pick up rubbish if we see it. We can put more rubbish bins in our parks and cities. Fourthly, we can live far from the noise and make the laws to limit the noise.

The air, water and the whole atmosphere directly influenced our lives, such as the air, people may cough and it will lead to cancer. So we must try our best to keep the world clean and tidy. To reach it, I want to put forward three points to everybody---Point 1：don’t spit and liter；Point 2：don’t draw on the wall；Point 3：clean the streets every day.

There is a very beautiful river in Paris．It is the Seine,it runs across the City,people drink coffee, chat on the bank in the day,at night,they enjoy the beautiful scenery in the boat,songs from the river fly into the Sky made the river more attractive, the Seine is a famous symbol of France；on the west coast of pacific ocean there lies the modern City Shanghai,anot ther river which used to be a very important transportation route runs through the center of the city,people respected and regard it as＂mother＂．It is the＂suzhou river,but l believe that few of you would sit beside it,people will be scattered by the terrible smell of water when walk by．I have to say it is extremely dirty! And we all know that a lot of beautiful rivers in the world also are Sharing the same fate with suzhou river．Who is the devil？I can＇t help asking．

Many human activities and their by-products have the potential to pollute water. Please have a look along the banks of the river, large and small industrial enterprises discharge dirty

water, tons of garbage were thrown into the river, the water contained so much that it can＇t clean itself. Compared with the dramatic development in many sides of Shanghai, the suzhou river has become a black point of the appearance of city.

Fortunately, the government has control the situation now, we are happy to see some parts of the river has become clean again, and we even can find fish sometime.

The unique earth is the only planet full of lives, the water is just like the blood in the active body, protecting water is saving ourselves. Not to waste a single drop of water, otherwise, the only drop of water we could keep in the future would be our tear!

My dear friends, mankind still faces a great difficulty in solving the problems of the environment and development, and there is a grand task to perform and along way to go. The middle school students in China will always cooperate with the young people of the world to protect the environment.

今天我们在这里举行会议是为了迎接20xx年的第一场战役，也就是第一次质检，当然，我们的最终目的是迎接高考。现在，英语学习进入了一个非常关键的阶段，也是一个瓶颈阶段。不少高三学生虽然努力学习英语，但仍然没有明显的进步，有时会感到力不从心，手足无措。其实最主要的原因可能在于学习方法上出现了一些问题。在这里我给大家提几点建议供大家参考。

一、制定计划。要想学好一门语言，首先要一个切实可行的计划，用以指导自已的学习，古人说得好“凡事预则立，不预则废。”做事有计划就不会打乱仗，也不会感到盲从。

二、专心听课。课堂是获取知识的主要来源，上课是学生进解和掌握基础的基本技能并在此基础上发展认知能力的一个关键环节，这就要求同学们始终保持高度集中的注意力，力争在课内就把一节课的内容记住，当堂消化。

三、及时复习。知识贵在落实，课后及时复习能加深和巩固对新知识理解和记忆，系统在掌握新知识以达到灵活运用，即知识迁移的目的。

四、掌握正确的记忆方法。英语是一门记忆很强的学科，要大量积累词汇。很多同学最烦记单词，总是抱怨记不住，以致于丧失了信心。这是因为你没有了解到记忆的规律，没有掌握记单词的技巧。现在我给大家介绍几种方法。

1、及时记忆法，要求上课时认真听讲，争取趁热打铁，当堂记住。

2、联想记忆法，如bridgroom和brid。有room的是新郎

3、分类记忆法，把单词分门别类，如动物、植物类。

4、感官记忆法也叫运动记忆法。尽可能发用多种感官，耳听、口读、手写、眼看、心记等。

5、构词记忆法，通过分析词根、前缀、后缀、派生和合成等记忆单词。

6、情景记忆法，把某个单词放在一个句子或者一段话中去记忆。

7、比较记忆法，反义词、同义词、同音词。

8、拼读记忆法，读准单词的发音是记住单词的前提，拼读记忆首先要求把单词读准确，充分认识单词的读音与拼写之间的关系。如nthusiastic

9、循环记忆法，任何先进的单词记忆法都必须进行反复记忆。学了可能会遗忘，为了防止遗忘，一定要不断发进行阶段性复习。可以把单词和重点句子写在长片上放在口袋里或贴在桌子上、放在枕头连随时记忆。有些单词不是你记不住，而是你重复的次数不够多。

五、培养良好的语感。什幺是语感？语感具有一听就清，一说就顺，一写就通，一读就懂的功能。那幺，怎样培养语感呢？

1、从听力训练开始，在听力方面，一是听课文录音带，去感知模仿形成正确的语音、语调，二是听英语广播、电视节目及原声电影等，三是认真对待我们平时的听力训练，要沉着、冷静、细心，抓关键词，瞄准下一个句子和题目。

2、朗读、背诵是培养语感的捷径。主要是多读课文及听力教材，要将一个单词读准，一个句子读顺，一篇文章读烂，平时朝读时要最大声、最快速、最清晰地读。通过诵读，同学们可对文章的语意、语法、语气、语调、节奏、重音了然于心。

3、要进行广泛阅读。阅读是吸收语言材料的最好途径，实践证明，学生阅读面越宽，语言实践越大，阅读理解能力便越强。只有通过读，才能够获得最大的实践量，才能享受到学习外语的真正甜头和学习的乐趣。阅读的数量多了，一些常用词汇、句式结构自然在脑子中形成了印象，也就逐渐形成了语感。现在我们每天至少应阅读一两篇文章。

4、多积累多写作是培养语感的必经之路。在平时写日记、周记，考试时尽量使用通过积累的高级词汇和句型，这样才能有效地提高写作水平。

六、要注重课本，排查要点，各个击破。这几年高考中都有课文中的原句子，同学们要善于发现隐藏在课文中的命题胚胎。

七、要持之以恒，孜孜不倦。俗话说“一日学，一日功”，“一日不学，十日空”。也就是要讲究一个“勤”字，做到天天读，天天背，天天练，天天总结，养成一种好习惯，这样你就离成功不远了。

今天我们在这里举行会议是为了迎接20xx年的第一场战役，也就是第一次质检，当然，我们的最终目的是迎接高考。现在，英语学习进入了一个非常关键的阶段，也是一个瓶颈阶段。不少高三学生虽然努力学习英语，但仍然没有明显的进步，有时会感到力不从心，手足无措。其实最主要的原因可能在于学习方法上出现了一些问题。在这里我给大家提几点建议供大家参考。

一、制定计划。要想学好一门语言，首先要一个切实可行的计划，用以指导自已的学习，古人说得好“凡事预则立，不预则废。”做事有计划就不会打乱仗，也不会感到盲从。

二、专心听课。课堂是获取知识的主要来源，上课是学生进解和掌握基础的基本技能并在此基础上发展认知能力的一个关键环节，这就要求同学们始终保持高度集中的注意力，力争在课内就把一节课的内容记住，当堂消化。

三、及时复习。知识贵在落实，课后及时复习能加深和巩固对新知识理解和记忆，系统在掌握新知识以达到灵活运用，即知识迁移的目的。

四、掌握正确的记忆方法。英语是一门记忆很强的学科，要大量积累词汇。很多同学最烦记单词，总是抱怨记不住，以致于丧失了信心。这是因为你没有了解到记忆的规律，没有掌握记单词的技巧。现在我给大家介绍几种方法。

1、及时记忆法，要求上课时认真听讲，争取趁热打铁，当堂记住。

2、联想记忆法，如bridgroom和brid。有room的是新郎

3、分类记忆法，把单词分门别类，如动物、植物类。

4、感官记忆法也叫运动记忆法。尽可能发用多种感官，耳听、口读、手写、眼看、心记等。

5、构词记忆法，通过分析词根、前缀、后缀、派生和合成等记忆单词。

6、情景记忆法，把某个单词放在一个句子或者一段话中去记忆。

7、比较记忆法，反义词、同义词、同音词。

8、拼读记忆法，读准单词的发音是记住单词的前提，拼读记忆首先要求把单词读准确，充分认识单词的读音与拼写之间的关系。如nthusiastic

9、循环记忆法，任何先进的单词记忆法都必须进行反复记忆。学了可能会遗忘，为了防止遗忘，一定要不断发进行阶段性复习。可以把单词和重点句子写在长片上放在口袋里或贴在桌子上、放在枕头连随时记忆。有些单词不是你记不住，而是你重复的次数不够多。

五、培养良好的语感。什幺是语感？语感具有一听就清，一说就顺，一写就通，一读就懂的功能。那幺，怎样培养语感呢？

1、从听力训练开始，在听力方面，一是听课文录音带，去感知模仿形成正确的语音、语调，二是听英语广播、电视节目及原声电影等，三是认真对待我们平时的听力训练，要沉着、冷静、细心，抓关键词，瞄准下一个句子和题目。

2、朗读、背诵是培养语感的捷径。主要是多读课文及听力教材，要将一个单词读准，一个句子读顺，一篇文章读烂，平时朝读时要最大声、最快速、最清晰地读。通过诵读，同学们可对文章的语意、语法、语气、语调、节奏、重音了然于心。

3、要进行广泛阅读。阅读是吸收语言材料的最好途径，实践证明，学生阅读面越宽，语言实践越大，阅读理解能力便越强。只有通过读，才能够获得最大的实践量，才能享受到学习外语的真正甜头和学习的乐趣。阅读的数量多了，一些常用词汇、句式结构自然在脑子中形成了印象，也就逐渐形成了语感。现在我们每天至少应阅读一两篇文章。

4、多积累多写作是培养语感的'必经之路。在平时写日记、周记，考试时尽量使用通过积累的高级词汇和句型，这样才能有效地提高写作水平。

六、要注重课本，排查要点，各个击破。这几年高考中都有课文中的原句子，同学们要善于发现隐藏在课文中的命题胚胎。

七、要持之以恒，孜孜不倦。俗话说“一日学，一日功”，“一日不学，十日空”。也就是要讲究一个“勤”字，做到天天读，天天背，天天练，天天总结，养成一种好习惯，这样你就离成功不远了。

英语学科核心素养是学生在接受相应学段英语课程教育的过程中，逐步形成和提升的适应个人终身发展和社会发展需要的必备品格和关键能力，综合表现为四大素养，由语言能力、文化品格、思维品质和学习能力组成。就其关系而言，语言能力是基础要素，文化品格是价值取向，思维品质是心智表征，学习能力是发展条件。英语学科核心素养涵盖了知识、能力和态度，四大核心素养相互渗透，融合互动，协调发展，是所有学生应具有的、学以致用的基础性综合素养。

为了更好提高落实新课标，提高学生的核心素养，我结合核心素养的四个方面谈一下自己的体会和建议。

一、探究课程内容，提升语言能力

语言能力是指在社会情境中，以听、说、读、看、写等方式理解和表达意义、意图和情感态度的能力。英语语言能力构成英语学科核心素养的基础，是学生发展文化品格、思维品质和学习能力的依托。英语语言能力的提高有助于学生拓宽文化视野，丰富思维方式，在全球化背景下开展跨文化交流。

教师要深入研读语篇，把握教学核心内容。研读语篇就是读者对语篇的主题、内容、文体结构、语言特点、作者观点等做深入的'解读。教师要积极研究如何在教学中落实培养学生学科核心素养的目标，探索有效的教与学的方式，努力实践以主题意义为引领的英语学习活动观，实施深度教学。教师必须深入研究课程内容，提炼重点，设计有效的教学活动，通过听说读写训练，提高学生的语言能力。

二、发掘优秀文化思想，培养文化品格

文化品格是指对中外文化的理解和对优秀文化的认同，是学生在全球化背景下表现出的文化意识、人文修养和行为取向。文化品格体现英语学科核心素养的价值取向。文化品格的培育有助于学生树立世界眼光，增强国家认同感和家国情怀，学会做人做事，成长为有文化修养和社会责任感的人。

落实立德树人根本任务，培养学生英语学科核心素养。教师应当充分把握教材的编写理念、设计思路应突出英语学科的育人价值，有机融入社会主义核心价值观，将立德树人的根本任务落到实处。要紧密围绕、依据学科核心素养来确立教材内容，无论是语篇和主题的选择还是相应的教学活动设计，都要体现对学科核心素养的培养价值，有利于学生发展语言能力，形成良好的文化品格和思维品质，学会学习，树立正确的价值观和审美观，提高学生的文化品格。

三、创设丰富多彩活动，促进思维品质升华

思维品质指人的思维个性特征，反映其在思维的逻辑性、批判性、创造性等方面所表现的能力和水平。思维品质体现英语学科核心素养的心智发展。思维品质的发展有助于提升学生分析问题和解决问题的能力，从跨文化的视角观察和认识世界，对事物作出正确的价值判断，促进学生的深度学习。

具体而言，学习理解类活动主要指基于语篇的学习活动。以解决问题为目的，鼓励学生从语篇中获得新知，通过梳理、概括、整合信息，建立信息间的关联，形成新的知识结构，感知并理解语言所表达的意义和语篇所承载的文化价值取向。迁移创新类活动主要指超越语篇的学习活动。通过自主、合作、探究的学习方式，综合运用语言技能，进行多元思维，创造性地解决陌生情境中的问题。英语学习活动的设计应注意.情境创设要尽量真实，注意与学生已有的知识和经验建立紧密联系，力求直接、简洁、有效。教师要善于利用多种工具和手段，思维导图或信息结构图，引导学生通过自主与合作相结合的方式，完成对信息的获取与梳理、概括与整合、内化与运用，教会学生在零散的信息和新旧知识之间建立关联，归纳和提炼基于主题的新知识结构。

四、分组合作教学，培养学习能力

学习能力指学生积极运用和主动调适英语学习策略、拓宽英语学习渠道、努力提升英语学习效率的意识和能力。学习能力构成英语学科核心素养发展的必要条件。学习能力的形成有助于学生做好英语学习的自我管理，养成良好的学习习惯，拓宽学习渠道，提高学习效率。

我校的课改：问题引领，学案导学，其实在学习能力的培养方面已经具有了相对成熟的经验。为培养学生自主、合作、探究的学习能力，教师要为学生创设支持和激励的学习环境。在教学中，教师要有意识地给予指导；课中组织小组合作学习与探究活动；课后布置适量的拓展性作业。此外，教师要在教学中帮助学生学会选择适合自己的学习方法和策略，主动参与学习活动并尝试自我评价和同伴互评，养成自我反思的习惯，在体验自主学习、合作学习和探究式学习的过程中学会学习。教师要在教学过程中帮助学生形成适合自己的学习方法和策略。教师也可以引导学生交流学习方法和策略，互帮互学。教师要引导学生养成自我反思的习惯，反思自己的学习兴趣和动机、学习方法和策略、语言能力现状和发展进程，帮助学生不断发展自主学习能力，成为有责任担当的学习者。

我在密歇根底特律的平民家庭长大,我的父亲是一个言语不多的人,他是个商人,我父亲告诉过我很重要的一点,也是我从他身上看到的,父亲教会我,每天都要为梦想竭尽全力。那就是每天他起床穿戴衣服之后,他会告诉他自己,无论你是生病了还是你觉得劳累了,但是他总会竭尽全力。

我上高中后渐渐地开始成功,当时有一个篮球运动员叫克里斯·韦伯,他当时是NBA选秀的第一名,所以在我还是高一的时候,我十四、五岁左右我身边的人都告诉我说,你永远没办法像克里斯那样出色,因为克里斯很强壮,而且力气也很大,但是你跑得不快,弹跳力也不行,你永远也不可能成为他。但是我小时候,已经听过这种话了,那么我怎么做呢?

我非常地幸运,我的父母都非常重视对我的教育,但是我有一些朋友和老师,他们会说:“肖恩,你不需要成为一个很好的学生,只要好好打你的篮球就行了。”我说不“不,我不要这样子,我要成为一个很好的学生。因为我喜欢学习,喜欢看书,我喜欢学习新的东西。”

It was winter and they had no homes and little food.

They built small homes, But it was too late to cultivate crops.

The winter was very cold and harsh. Their living conditions were very bad. The friendly Wampanoag Indians helped them during the long winter.In the spring the Pilgrims met an Indian called Squanto. He explained how to grow corn, hunt and live in the wilderness. Soon the Pilgrims and the Indians became good friends.

The Pilgrims worked hard . By November 1621 everyone had food and a home. There was hope for the future. The Pilgrim leader, decided to celebrate with a dinner for the Pilgrims and the Indians. He wanted to give thanks to God.

This was the first Thanksgiving dinner and it lasted for three days.

Today the traditional Thanksgiving meal is similar to the first.

People eatroast turkey, sweet potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.

Promote education reform at all levels.

Introduce sustainable development initiatives.

The implementation of free trade agreement between China and ASEAN.

The benefit to China in introducing these initiatives will be significant and far-reaching. It is important to realize that these initiatives need to filter down through all elements of the society in China. For instance, cutting edge technologies and intellectual properties; the development of e-commerce based economy; an education system that encourages innovation and creativity; increased foreign investment; higher living standards; more efficient use of natural resources.

It is important for us to realize these reforms are both essential and necessary. These will help China to fulfill its vast and unrealized potential on the world stage. It will also contribute more to a globalized world of the new century.

As for the future our task is not to foresee but to enable.

I received a devastating blow to my self-confidence in the first interview of my college years. I applied to be a host in our Student Acting Troupe and felt confident that I would be accepted. I used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence. But no matter how hard I tried to look the part, there was still something missing.

As president of English Club, I organized the rehearsal of Snow White for an English party. Unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. It had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in English. Suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and I knew I would have to be the dwarf. To my great surprise and delight, once on stage, I was totally absorbed in the performance and my humorous nature was put to full use. As the dwarf, I was a big hit.

为了更好提高落实新课标，提高学生的核心素养，我结合核心素养的四个方面谈一下自己的体会和建议。

一、探究课程内容，提升语言能力

语言能力是指在社会情境中，以听、说、读、看、写等方式理解和表达意义、意图和情感态度的能力。英语语言能力构成英语学科核心素养的基础，是学生发展文化品格、思维品质和学习能力的依托。英语语言能力的提高有助于学生拓宽文化视野，丰富思维方式，在全球化背景下开展跨文化交流。

教师要深入研读语篇，把握教学核心内容。研读语篇就是读者对语篇的主题、内容、文体结构、语言特点、作者观点等做深入的解读。教师要积极研究如何在教学中落实培养学生学科核心素养的目标，探索有效的教与学的方式，努力实践以主题意义为引领的英语学习活动观，实施深度教学。教师必须深入研究课程内容，提炼重点，设计有效的教学活动，通过听说读写训练，提高学生的语言能力。

二、发掘优秀文化思想，培养文化品格

文化品格是指对中外文化的理解和对优秀文化的认同，是学生在全球化背景下表现出的文化意识、人文修养和行为取向。文化品格体现英语学科核心素养的价值取向。文化品格的培育有助于学生树立世界眼光，增强国家认同感和家国情怀，学会做人做事，成长为有文化修养和社会责任感的人。

落实立德树人根本任务，培养学生英语学科核心素养。教师应当充分把握教材的编写理念、设计思路应突出英语学科的育人价值，有机融入社会主义核心价值观，将立德树人的根本任务落到实处。要紧密围绕、依据学科核心素养来确立教材内容，无论是语篇和主题的选择还是相应的教学活动设计，都要体现对学科核心素养的培养价值，有利于学生发展语言能力，形成良好的文化品格和思维品质，学会学习，树立正确的价值观和审美观，提高学生的文化品格。

三、创设丰富多彩活动，促进思维品质升华

思维品质指人的思维个性特征，反映其在思维的逻辑性、批判性、创造性等方面所表现的能力和水平。思维品质体现英语学科核心素养的心智发展。思维品质的发展有助于提升学生分析问题和解决问题的能力，从跨文化的视角观察和认识世界，对事物作出正确的价值判断，促进学生的深度学习。

具体而言，学习理解类活动主要指基于语篇的学习活动。以解决问题为目的，鼓励学生从语篇中获得新知，通过梳理、概括、整合信息，建立信息间的关联，形成新的知识结构，感知并理解语言所表达的意义和语篇所承载的文化价值取向。迁移创新类活动主要指超越语篇的学习活动。通过自主、合作、探究的学习方式，综合运用语言技能，进行多元思维，创造性地解决陌生情境中的问题。英语学习活动的设计应注意.情境创设要尽量真实，注意与学生已有的知识和经验建立紧密联系，力求直接、简洁、有效。教师要善于利用多种工具和手段，思维导图或信息结构图，引导学生通过自主与合作相结合的方式，完成对信息的获取与梳理、概括与整合、内化与运用，教会学生在零散的信息和新旧知识之间建立关联，归纳和提炼基于主题的新知识结构。

今天我们在这里举行会议是为了迎接20xx年的第一场战役，也就是第一次质检，当然，我们的最终目的是迎接高考。现在，英语学习进入了一个非常关键的阶段，也是一个瓶颈阶段。不少高三学生虽然努力学习英语，但仍然没有明显的进步，有时会感到力不从心，手足无措。其实最主要的原因可能在于学习方法上出现了一些问题。在这里我给大家提几点建议供大家参考。

一、制定计划。要想学好一门语言，首先要一个切实可行的计划，用以指导自已的学习，古人说得好“凡事预则立，不预则废。”做事有计划就不会打乱仗，也不会感到盲从。

二、专心听课。课堂是获取知识的主要来源，上课是学生进解和掌握基础的基本技能并在此基础上发展认知能力的一个关键环节，这就要求同学们始终保持高度集中的注意力，力争在课内就把一节课的内容记住，当堂消化。

三、及时复习。知识贵在落实，课后及时复习能加深和巩固对新知识理解和记忆，系统在掌握新知识以达到灵活运用，即知识迁移的目的。

四、掌握正确的记忆方法。英语是一门记忆很强的学科，要大量积累词汇。很多同学最烦记单词，总是抱怨记不住，以致于丧失了信心。这是因为你没有了解到记忆的规律，没有掌握记单词的技巧。现在我给大家介绍几种方法。

1、及时记忆法，要求上课时认真听讲，争取趁热打铁，当堂记住。

2、联想记忆法，如bridgroom和brid。有room的是新郎

3、分类记忆法，把单词分门别类，如动物、植物类。

4、感官记忆法也叫运动记忆法。尽可能发用多种感官，耳听、口读、手写、眼看、心记等。

5、构词记忆法，通过分析词根、前缀、后缀、派生和合成等记忆单词。

6、情景记忆法，把某个单词放在一个句子或者一段话中去记忆。

7、比较记忆法，反义词、同义词、同音词。

8、拼读记忆法，读准单词的发音是记住单词的前提，拼读记忆首先要求把单词读准确，充分认识单词的读音与拼写之间的关系。如nthusiastic

9、循环记忆法，任何先进的单词记忆法都必须进行反复记忆。学了可能会遗忘，为了防止遗忘，一定要不断发进行阶段性复习。可以把单词和重点句子写在长片上放在口袋里或贴在桌子上、放在枕头连随时记忆。有些单词不是你记不住，而是你重复的次数不够多。

五、培养良好的语感。什幺是语感？语感具有一听就清，一说就顺，一写就通，一读就懂的功能。那幺，怎样培养语感呢？

1、从听力训练开始，在听力方面，一是听课文录音带，去感知模仿形成正确的语音、语调，二是听英语广播、电视节目及原声电影等，三是认真对待我们平时的听力训练，要沉着、冷静、细心，抓关键词，瞄准下一个句子和题目。

2、朗读、背诵是培养语感的捷径。主要是多读课文及听力教材，要将一个单词读准，一个句子读顺，一篇文章读烂，平时朝读时要最大声、最快速、最清晰地读。通过诵读，同学们可对文章的语意、语法、语气、语调、节奏、重音了然于心。

3、要进行广泛阅读。阅读是吸收语言材料的最好途径，实践证明，学生阅读面越宽，语言实践越大，阅读理解能力便越强。只有通过读，才能够获得最大的实践量，才能享受到学习外语的真正甜头和学习的乐趣。阅读的数量多了，一些常用词汇、句式结构自然在脑子中形成了印象，也就逐渐形成了语感。现在我们每天至少应阅读一两篇文章。

4、多积累多写作是培养语感的'必经之路。在平时写日记、周记，考试时尽量使用通过积累的高级词汇和句型，这样才能有效地提高写作水平。

六、要注重课本，排查要点，各个击破。这几年高考中都有课文中的原句子，同学们要善于发现隐藏在课文中的命题胚胎。

七、要持之以恒，孜孜不倦。俗话说“一日学，一日功”，“一日不学，十日空”。也就是要讲究一个“勤”字，做到天天读，天天背，天天练，天天总结，养成一种好习惯，这样你就离成功不远了。

八、要提高自已的应试素质，把平时的考试当作高考，把高考当作平时的考试。

I feel so happy to have the chance to make a speech. The title of my speech is Protect the Environment, Protect Ourselves. I hope you will like it.

Everybody knows waste paper and used coke cans are discarded everywhere. You might have seen plastic bags flying in the sky and getting caught in the trees when the wind blows or maybe you have seen old cans floating in the rivers and polluting the water. Our environment is the place in which we live, but it is being ruined by us.

There is a story about house and trees. It is said that a man’s house was surrounded by a lot of trees. Though the wind was strong, that man could have a good rest under the trees. How comfortable the life was! One day, that man wanted to enlarge his house, so he cut down all the trees. Then the autumn came without the protection. The strong wind blew the roof of the house into the sky. The whole house was gone with the wind. What a pity! But that’s the price people have to pay for destroying in the ecology balance. People shouldn’t be short-sighted. Protecting the environment is everyone’s task.

As you know, there are four kinds of pollution. They are air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution and noise pollution. But what can we do to solve the pollution？I think, firstly, we can make cars that don’t pollute the environment. We can ask companies to use modern clean technology. In some big cities, we can limit the number of cars. Secondly, we can try to use less water and make sure that we do not pollute the water. We can tell factories that they are not allowed to pour waste water into the lakes and rivers. Thirdly, we should not throw rubbish in parks and cities. We can pick up rubbish if we see it. We can put more rubbish bins in our parks and cities. Fourthly, we can live far from the noise and make the laws to limit the noise.

The air, water and the whole atmosphere directly influenced our lives, such as the air, people may cough and it will lead to cancer. So we must try our best to keep the world clean and tidy. To reach it, I want to put forward three points to everybody---Point 1：don’t spit and liter；Point 2：don’t draw on the wall；Point 3：clean the streets every day.

In order to make the environment clean, let’s join our hands together to make the world better.

There is a very beautiful river in Paris．It is the Seine,it runs across the City,people drink coffee, chat on the bank in the day,at night,they enjoy the beautiful scenery in the boat,songs from the river fly into the Sky made the river more attractive, the Seine is a famous symbol of France；on the west coast of pacific ocean there lies the modern City Shanghai,anot ther river which used to be a very important transportation route runs through the center of the city,people respected and regard it as＂mother＂．It is the＂suzhou river,but l believe that few of you would sit beside it,people will be scattered by the terrible smell of water when walk by．I have to say it is extremely dirty! And we all know that a lot of beautiful rivers in the world also are Sharing the same fate with suzhou river．Who is the devil？I can＇t help asking．

Many human activities and their by-products have the potential to pollute water. Please have a look along the banks of the river, large and small industrial enterprises discharge dirty

water, tons of garbage were thrown into the river, the water contained so much that it can＇t clean itself. Compared with the dramatic development in many sides of Shanghai, the suzhou river has become a black point of the appearance of city.

Fortunately, the government has control the situation now, we are happy to see some parts of the river has become clean again, and we even can find fish sometime.

The unique earth is the only planet full of lives, the water is just like the blood in the active body, protecting water is saving ourselves. Not to waste a single drop of water, otherwise, the only drop of water we could keep in the future would be our tear!

My dear friends, mankind still faces a great difficulty in solving the problems of the environment and development, and there is a grand task to perform and along way to go. The middle school students in China will always cooperate with the young people of the world to protect the environment.

二、专心听课。课堂是获取知识的主要来源，上课是学生进解和掌握基础的基本技能并在此基础上发展认知能力的一个关键环节，这就要求同学们始终保持高度集中的注意力，力争在课内就把一节课的内容记住，当堂消化。

三、及时复习。知识贵在落实，课后及时复习能加深和巩固对新知识理解和记忆，系统在掌握新知识以达到灵活运用，即知识迁移的目的。

四、掌握正确的记忆方法。英语是一门记忆很强的学科，要大量积累词汇。很多同学最烦记单词，总是抱怨记不住，以致于丧失了信心。这是因为你没有了解到记忆的规律，没有掌握记单词的技巧。现在我给大家介绍几种方法。

1、及时记忆法，要求上课时认真听讲，争取趁热打铁，当堂记住。

2、联想记忆法，如bridgroom和brid。有room的是新郎

3、分类记忆法，把单词分门别类，如动物、植物类。

4、感官记忆法也叫运动记忆法。尽可能发用多种感官，耳听、口读、手写、眼看、心记等。

5、构词记忆法，通过分析词根、前缀、后缀、派生和合成等记忆单词。

6、情景记忆法，把某个单词放在一个句子或者一段话中去记忆。

7、比较记忆法，反义词、同义词、同音词。

8、拼读记忆法，读准单词的发音是记住单词的前提，拼读记忆首先要求把单词读准确，充分认识单词的读音与拼写之间的关系。如nthusiastic

9、循环记忆法，任何先进的单词记忆法都必须进行反复记忆。学了可能会遗忘，为了防止遗忘，一定要不断发进行阶段性复习。可以把单词和重点句子写在长片上放在口袋里或贴在桌子上、放在枕头连随时记忆。有些单词不是你记不住，而是你重复的次数不够多。

五、培养良好的语感。什幺是语感？语感具有一听就清，一说就顺，一写就通，一读就懂的功能。那幺，怎样培养语感呢？

1、从听力训练开始，在听力方面，一是听课文录音带，去感知模仿形成正确的语音、语调，二是听英语广播、电视节目及原声电影等，三是认真对待我们平时的听力训练，要沉着、冷静、细心，抓关键词，瞄准下一个句子和题目。

2、朗读、背诵是培养语感的捷径。主要是多读课文及听力教材，要将一个单词读准，一个句子读顺，一篇文章读烂，平时朝读时要最大声、最快速、最清晰地读。通过诵读，同学们可对文章的语意、语法、语气、语调、节奏、重音了然于心。

3、要进行广泛阅读。阅读是吸收语言材料的最好途径，实践证明，学生阅读面越宽，语言实践越大，阅读理解能力便越强。只有通过读，才能够获得最大的实践量，才能享受到学习外语的真正甜头和学习的乐趣。阅读的数量多了，一些常用词汇、句式结构自然在脑子中形成了印象，也就逐渐形成了语感。现在我们每天至少应阅读一两篇文章。

4、多积累多写作是培养语感的必经之路。在平时写日记、周记，考试时尽量使用通过积累的高级词汇和句型，这样才能有效地提高写作水平。

六、要注重课本，排查要点，各个击破。这几年高考中都有课文中的原句子，同学们要善于发现隐藏在课文中的命题胚胎。

七、要持之以恒，孜孜不倦。俗话说“一日学，一日功”，“一日不学，十日空”。也就是要讲究一个“勤”字，做到天天读，天天背，天天练，天天总结，养成一种好习惯，这样你就离成功不远了。

八、要提高自已的应试素质，把平时的考试当作高考，把高考当作平时的考试。

为了更好提高落实新课标，提高学生的核心素养，我结合核心素养的四个方面谈一下自己的体会和建议。

一、探究课程内容，提升语言能力

教师要深入研读语篇，把握教学核心内容。研读语篇就是读者对语篇的主题、内容、文体结构、语言特点、作者观点等做深入的解读。教师要积极研究如何在教学中落实培养学生学科核心素养的目标，探索有效的教与学的方式，努力实践以主题意义为引领的英语学习活动观，实施深度教学。教师必须深入研究课程内容，提炼重点，设计有效的教学活动，通过听说读写训练，提高学生的语言能力。

二、发掘优秀文化思想，培养文化品格

文化品格是指对中外文化的理解和对优秀文化的认同，是学生在全球化背景下表现出的文化意识、人文修养和行为取向。文化品格体现英语学科核心素养的价值取向。文化品格的培育有助于学生树立世界眼光，增强国家认同感和家国情怀，学会做人做事，成长为有文化修养和社会责任感的人。

落实立德树人根本任务，培养学生英语学科核心素养。教师应当充分把握教材的'编写理念、设计思路应突出英语学科的育人价值，有机融入社会主义核心价值观，将立德树人的根本任务落到实处。要紧密围绕、依据学科核心素养来确立教材内容，无论是语篇和主题的选择还是相应的教学活动设计，都要体现对学科核心素养的培养价值，有利于学生发展语言能力，形成良好的文化品格和思维品质，学会学习，树立正确的价值观和审美观，提高学生的文化品格。

三、创设丰富多彩活动，促进思维品质升华

思维品质指人的思维个性特征，反映其在思维的逻辑性、批判性、创造性等方面所表现的能力和水平。思维品质体现英语学科核心素养的心智发展。思维品质的发展有助于提升学生分析问题和解决问题的能力，从跨文化的视角观察和认识世界，对事物作出正确的价值判断，促进学生的深度学习。

具体而言，学习理解类活动主要指基于语篇的学习活动。以解决问题为目的，鼓励学生从语篇中获得新知，通过梳理、概括、整合信息，建立信息间的关联，形成新的知识结构，感知并理解语言所表达的意义和语篇所承载的文化价值取向。迁移创新类活动主要指超越语篇的学习活动。通过自主、合作、探究的学习方式，综合运用语言技能，进行多元思维，创造性地解决陌生情境中的问题。英语学习活动的设计应注意.情境创设要尽量真实，注意与学生已有的知识和经验建立紧密联系，力求直接、简洁、有效。教师要善于利用多种工具和手段，思维导图或信息结构图，引导学生通过自主与合作相结合的方式，完成对信息的获取与梳理、概括与整合、内化与运用，教会学生在零散的信息和新旧知识之间建立关联，归纳和提炼基于主题的新知识结构。

I received a devastating blow to my self-confidence in the first interview of my college years. I applied to be a host in our Student Acting Troupe and felt confident that I would be accepted. But one of the panel members told me: "You seem inadequate and you are a little vertically-challenged." My life has never been the same since. I used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence. But no matter how hard I tried to look the part, there was still something missing.

As president of English Club, I organized the rehearsal of Snow White for an English party. Unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. It had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in English. Suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and I knew I would have to be the dwarf. To my great surprise and delight, once on stage, I was totally absorbed in the performance and my humorous nature was put to full use. As the dwarf, I was a big hit.

Yes, each of us is only one among millions of others, but each of us is an individual and each of us is unique. Cultivating our individuality will transform our lives, making of them a kaleidoscope of new colors and textures.

A world deprived of diversity would be a bland and boring place. The real tragedy is not being short or shy or ugly, but having your identity lost in a world in which everyone is a clone of a model cool boy or a flawless charming girl.

Finally, I would like to conclude, not with a memory, but with some advice. What would a graduation speech be without a little advice, right? Anyway, this advice comes in the form of a verse delivered to the 1977 graduating class of Lake Forest College by Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known to the world as Dr. Seuss - Here's how it goes:

My uncle ordered popovers from the restaurant's bill of fare. And when they were served, he regarded them with a penetrating stare . . . Then he spoke great Words of Wisdom as he sat there on that chair: "To eat these things," said my uncle, "you must excercise great care. You may swallow down what's solid . . . BUT . . . you must spit out the air!"

And . . . as you partake of the world's bill of fare, that's darned good advice to follow. Do a lot of spitting out the hot air. And be careful what you swallow.

Personally I agree with the latter and I strongly recommend that photographic works should be counted as an important aspect of the arts festival.

My suggestion lies in the following two reasons. On the one hand for he students who take photos the photographic exhibition can stimulate them to discover the beauty that permeates our surroundings. As the saying goes beauty is in the eye of the beholder; such an activity will definitely foster sharp eyes of photographers to-be. On the other hand for the students who appreciate the photos they are given a shortcut to the beauty of the nature and the society. Maybe by this way they find the sense of the life and enjoy the life more in the future.

我的建议基于以下两点。从一方面来说，对于拍照的同学，摄影展示能够激发他们去发现我们身边的美。常言道，美在观察者的眼中;像这种活动绝对能够培养未来摄影者的锐利目光。从另一方面来说，对于喜欢照片的同学来说，他们就有了一条通向自然和社会的美景的捷径了。也许通过这个方式，他们能够找到生活的感觉，未来也会更加享受生活。

In short the photographic exhibition can get the students to discover and appreciate beauty. I believe that it is wise to involve the photographic works into the university arts festival.
